M - Bare - Assed

no, I'm not bare-assed. But embarrassed. I just went to log into my blogger account and i noticed that I had not posted anything since january..... of 2007. Holy crap!

Man, to be honest, i don't know if anyone ever reads this. but I've got to give a shout out to blogger.com for not completely de-activating my account due to massive inactivity.

I'm not going to attempt to catch up here with everything that has happened since january '07. One, because I can't remember, and two, because I don't think anything that significant has happened. I'm trying to warm this thing up, this blog, for things to come. I may have some stories, some shows, some pictures.

It's not big breaking news or anything... but daddy is getting back on the road. Yup. I initially thought, "let's ease into this, maybe just do the midwest..." but screw that. i'm hitting more schools than ever. Yes, it will mainly be a college tour, but if there are open dates, I'm going to try to fill them just to perform. The way I see it, and any other indie touring musician may be able to corroborate, any day off on the road is losing money. It's not a huge swing or anything... you know there's always gas (which, don't get me started, nice timing to get back on the road) and there's meals, and miscellaneous things. But if I go ahead and fill in an open date with any old coffeeshop or club show, then I'll probably make a few bucks and hopefully just break even for the day.

so i've been working on this tour for a while, and it's coming together, as usual... slowly. the icebreaker was UNC-Asheville and a nice young kid named Andrew booking and contracting the first show of the tour. and now i'm working on blocks of shows in the northeast, virginia, maryland... all over the freakin place.

I won't be releasing dates until about a month in advance, just because (1) no one needs to worry about getting tickets in advance and (2) i'm still going to be filling in dates up to the wire, probably even early september. And (i know i'm jumping around here) i'm trying to see if I can find an in for a couple shows in Canada. Maybe toronto, london, I don't know where to start, but i've asked a few reputable toronto artists for some help so we'll see where it goes.

i'm really excited about this and can only hope against hope that it's not an isolated tour and that I can work it out for winter/spring and keep it rolling like I used to... only better!

okay i got sidetracked. lost focus, and i think this blog is over.
