never good at titles

I've been writing... and every time a new song comes along, the title is usually not among the first written in ink. anyway, so this entry's title expresses my lack of creativity in this area...

anyway... played a show yesterday. some of my favorite shows have been the outdoor afternoon college shows. yesterday was no exception... especially because I could play the show and then be home for lunch within the hour. it was at Wayne State here in Detroit. Bubs played with me. he's getting hitched soon, and I haven't hung out with him in a while, so that was cool. the weather was perfect. sun shining, yet not too hot, with a nice cool breeze blowing through our little tent. Yes, they gave us a tent this time. it was a treat just watching them put it up. and once we got the sound squared away and I moved my car per a police officer's suggestion, then we got underway.
our biggest conflict was that of the missing shaker. I've got this fruit-shaped shaker which is great and has been used in the past, but we forgot it... probably on Bubs' coffee table. anyway we told Zemen, our right-hand girl that we forgot it, and we might have to cancel the show for this reason. so she recalled that they had a couple of toy plastic marracas up in the office, and she brought them down. they didn't quite hold a torch to the shaker, but they got us through and later we defaced the marracas and I affixed a jimmyatto sticker to one of them, and donated it to Zemen for being such a good sport for bringing us back to play wayne state for a 3rd time... I think we might see some pictures eventually, mainly a couple of us with the marracas, because that seemed to be the running joke of the set...

thanks to all who came out to soak up the sun and the tunes... i look forward to my first ever trip to Vegas...
